It is no secret that some of the world’s most treasured resources lies in Africa’s soil. We source our main ingredients locally and celebrate being a truly African company. We pride ourselves on the quality and quantity of pure and natural ingredients that we use in our product formulation.
The search for quality products that are 100% natural and chemical-free led me to start creating my own body butters, soaps and oil blends. Over the years, my quest for knowledge of natural skincare formulation and ingredients has taken me to a few places… training in skincare formulation in the UK, visits to Nigerian and Ghanaian villages and around the world in search of the purest and effective ingredients.
Quality, integrity and excellent customer service are at the core of our values as we seek to create a global brand from Africa to the world. Our product line consists of Shea body butters, oils, and African black soap washes, catering to women, men and children.
Why Modara
We put a lot of care into making our products, which ensures you are guaranteed pure natural ingredients in generous quantities with every use. We source our Shea butter and black soap ethically from local women in West African villages. We imbibe fair trade principles ensuring sustainable financial income for these precious women and their families by paying fairly for their work.
Our women producers have been trained to produce high quality organic Grade A export butters and soaps. Our carrier oils are all cold pressed, 100% Kosher certified and between 70%-80% USDA organic certified. All our essential oils are steam distilled, 100% kosher certified with between 50% – 60% USDA organic certified. We buy our oils from suppliers who source ethically from local farmers all over the globe.
Our suppliers have gas chromatography laboratories to test the purity and potency of every oil batch. They provide supporting MSDS (material safety data sheet), certification of analysis, and organic information, quality and regulatory information on every batch purchased. We carefully craft our products by hand in small batches to maintain the quality and richness of each blend. The last ingredient added is an ample dose of love!
